Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern access to Orleans Parish Released Inmates and its links, search features, and written material. Using any part of the site means that you agree to follow these terms. They apply each time you visit. If you do not accept every condition, do not use the site or submit a search. The terms include strict limits on prohibited uses, describe the role of outside providers, and explain the legal basis on which the site is offered.

Orleans Parish Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with the City of New Orleans, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, any court, jail, government body, or corrections department. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The material cannot be used for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant screening. The site helps visitors locate Orleans Parish and Louisiana jail, custody, and release-record resources, but it is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

The Site’s Limited Role

This is a private reference website. It is not connected to OPSO, Louisiana DPS&C, a New Orleans court, a federal agency, or any other public office. No official booking, court, correctional, or release record is stored here. We cannot confirm whether a person is in custody, order or complete a release, change a public record, file a court document, or speak for an agency.

The content points visitors toward official inmate, jail, court, supervision, and release-record resources serving Orleans Parish. Some search features connect to independent research providers. A link or referral is only a route to another source. It does not turn that source’s results into an official statement by this site.

Acceptable Use Rules

You may use the site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm people, systems, or other visitors. By continuing, you agree that you will not:

  • violate any federal, Louisiana, or local law while using the site;
  • use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm anyone;
  • base hiring, firing, housing, tenant, lending, credit, or insurance decisions on site content;
  • attempt to enter an account, server, data store, or system without authorization;
  • operate bots, scrapers, harvesters, or automated extraction tools against the site; or
  • interfere with performance, security, access, or another visitor’s use.

No Consumer Reports or Screening

Orleans Parish Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not supply background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. Its advertising and search partners do not provide FCRA-covered services through this site. You agree that records, search results, links, or other material obtained here will not be used for:

  • decisions to hire, fire, retain, promote, or discipline a worker;
  • housing eligibility, lease approval, or tenant screening;
  • creditworthiness, lending terms, or insurance premiums;
  • licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government program; or
  • any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

Websites Operated by Others

The site links to OPSO release and booking records, Louisiana corrections resources, government portals, courts, legal-aid material, and independent search tools. We do not operate those destinations and do not control their content, privacy practices, data handling, availability, or security. A link is not an endorsement. Review the destination’s current terms and privacy notice before using it or submitting personal information.

Information Provided As Is

The site, content, links, and features are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, no express or implied warranty is made concerning:

  • the accuracy, completeness, or current state of any information;
  • continuous or uninterrupted availability;
  • freedom from errors, bugs, harmful code, or security weaknesses; or
  • the scope, accuracy, or completeness of partner search results.

Custody status, release events, court dockets, and public records can change quickly. Nothing published or linked here is an official statement by OPSO, a sheriff’s office, a court, Louisiana DPS&C, or another government agency. Confirm consequential facts with the office that created the source record.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Orleans Parish Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from access to, inability to access, reliance on, or use of the site, its content, outside links, or partner tools. This limitation applies regardless of the form of the claim and whether the possibility of harm was known.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Orleans Parish Released Inmates, its owners, operators, contributors, and service providers from claims, losses, obligations, damages, judgments, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use or misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless a separate credit states otherwise, the site’s original text, graphics, logos, arrangement, and code belong to Orleans Parish Released Inmates or its content partners and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, modify, or create derivative works from that material without prior written permission. Government records and third-party material remain subject to the rights and rules of their respective owners.

Revisions to These Conditions

We may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. New wording takes effect when it is posted on this page unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use after posting means you accept the revised terms. Review the current version before relying on a site feature or submitting information.

Suspension or Loss of Access

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to all or part of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice. This right includes action taken in response to suspected misuse, security risks, automated extraction, unlawful conduct, or disruption. Ending access does not limit any right or obligation that arose before access was blocked.

Louisiana Law Governs

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would select another jurisdiction. Any dispute concerning the site or these terms must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in Louisiana, unless controlling law requires a different forum.

If One Term Is Invalid

If a court finds any provision invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed or adjusted only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intended purpose as closely as the law permits.
